Brad is a Distinguished Professor at UCLA in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and the Institute of Environment and Sustainability. He moved from UC Davis to UCLA in early 2012 to be the Founding Director of the UCLA La Kretz Center for California Conservation Science. In 2015, he took on the additional role as Director of the Stunt Ranch Reserve in the Santa Monica Mountains. Brad is particularly passionate about reptiles and amphibians, and California conservation generally.

David has worked alongside Dr. Shaffer since 2022 to maintain and monitor the Stunt Ranch Santa Monica Mountains Reserve and the La Kretz Center for California Conservation Science. As Assistant Director, David manages all the reserve’s applications, reservations, and events. He is passionate about supporting outdoor education and enjoys helping students achieve their research goals. Additionally, David is proud to be an active UC Nature Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) committee member. Outside work, he enjoys hiking, traveling, playing music, and spending time with his family.

Stunt Ranch Santa Monica Mountains Reserve
Stunt Ranch Santa Monica Mountains Reserve is located between Topanga Canyon and Malibu Canyon, and between the cities of Malibu and Calabasas. It is roughly 26 miles from UCLA by road, about a 30-45 minute drive.

All deliveries for the reserve should be sent to the address below. Please contact the reserve before sending a package or letter. For the safety of our staff, any unexpected deliveries or mail for Stunt Ranch Reserve will not be opened.
