Stunt Ranch Reserve owes much of its current and past achievements to a cadre of devoted volunteers and generous benefactors. Aligned with the overarching mission of UC Nature and Stunt Ranch, our collective aim is to contribute to the comprehension and responsible management of the Earth and its natural systems. This is achieved through our support of university-level teaching, research, and public service in protected natural areas across California. Below are several ways that you can get involved at Stunt Ranch and contribute to the reserves mission of supporting education and California conservation!

Volunteering
We invite university students and researchers to actively participate in reserve activities. As volunteers, students have the chance to engage with a UC Nature reserve and cultivate their skills as conservationists, learn about reserve operations, take part in reserve events, and contribute to conservation awareness. Click here for additional information on how to get involved!
Events
Each year, Stunt Ranch Reserve supports a diverse array of public outreach events. These occasions serve as a platform for the public to understand the mission of various projects, for researchers to connect with advocacy groups, and for students to articulate the significance of their research in their respective fields. Visit Events to stay informed about upcoming public events at Stunt Ranch and explore annual opportunities for student research funding. If you are interested in organizing your own event at the reserve, please visit Outreach Events & Workshops for details on how to apply.
Donate to Stunt Ranch Santa Monica Mountains Reserve
Donations to the Reserve are vital to our collective ability to protect the land, actively restore landscapes, support student research and instruction, provide outreach programs for adult education and K-12 science education, and to construct and maintain a cutting-edge research and educational facility. Ultimately, a donation to our facility supports our mission to be a free educational space that any students can utilize to learn about the Santa Monica Mountains and/or develop their research skills.
The La Kretz Center for California Conservation Science
In 2015, the UCLA La Kretz Center for California Conservation Science assumed administrative responsibility for the Stunt Ranch Santa Monica Mountains Reserve. Similar to Stunt Ranch, the La Kretz Center also operates a field station in the Santa Monica Mountains, offering support for field research through short- and long-term accommodations, as well as meeting spaces for small classes.
The La Kretz Center and Stunt Ranch Reserve collaborate closely to meet the needs of field researchers and provide grant opportunities for student research. For details on research programs and events funded by the center, please refer to the UCLA La Kretz Center website.
